when a guy thinks he has something valuable to teach you

Clarification: when a guy younger than you thinks this. Older guys might have snippets of knowledge. Might. Sometimes. Not all of them.

when older guys think they have something valuable to teach you

Clarification: teach you things = like how to change a tire. Like YOUR DAD teaching you how to change a tire. That’s feasible. Not about how to be a woman though or how to think or what kind of clothes to buy. Nope.

when you teach your dad stuff about cars

You either learn because you have to in order to survive (like Rey) or you learn because you want to. And in a lot of cases that means from family members. And in the typical household it’s the dad who does the fixing and the mom who does the cooking. I pride myself on being able to do both. So I don’t really understand your apparent hatred of learning anything from a man.

when you’re unconcerned with explanations of antiquated parental roles in typical households because you’re a space orphan and you just finished cooking and fixing stuff in your house

Do you ever wonder how many stories have been told about you? I don’t mean rumors or gossip. A story like “ one time I was at the mall and this girl dropped her hotdog but she picked it up and ate it” what if I’m that girl??how many times have people seen me do something I thought no one saw and is now being used as an ice breaker at a family dinner? Hmmmmmm?!???!

one time i was in this historical park in new york and i was climbing a tree in order to get a good photo and i fell out just as a family was walking past…two years later i ran into the mom at stop&shop and she gasped and said “oh my god, tree girl?” and i’ve never been the same since
